Accreditation

We are pleased to announce that in May of 2017 Qatar Academy Al Wakra received full Accreditation from two highly respected organizations that establish and maintain high standards for all levels of education. The two organizations are the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). Both organizations are committed to educational quality and the development of global citizens. QAW received an honorable report highlights of the reports included a commendation for taking great care in the consideration of educating the whole child including providing for social, emotional, physical, and academic development. The leadership of the school was also commended for supporting innovation and strong commitment to the positive school culture.

QAW are also a Candidate for Authorization by the International Baccalaureate for the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme. These two programs are the basis for our model of education in the school. We were granted candidacy status in the Spring of 2015 and anticipate full authorizaton by Spring of 2018 for the MYP. QAW received status as a Candidate for Authorization from IB in the PYP in the Spring of 2016 and anticipate full authorization by the Fall of 2018.

Pre4 Healthy Habits

October 19 2017

This term, the Pre 4 students had been learning all about making healthy choices, through our unit "Healthy Habits" Students worked hard with their teachers to prepare and create educational presentations that included singing and acting to inform their parents about the healthy choices they want to make everyday regarding food, cleanliness and sleep.
Parents were invited to attend our interactive presentation on Tuesday October 17th. Students presented their songs and skits with great confidence. Teachers and students received great feedback from parents after the show.

QAW Solar Art In-house Exhibition

QAW students have talent! A number of students from grade 3, 4 and 5 created Solar Art projects using a solar energy component and recycling materials for the Shams Generation Project.
