Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Our mission here at Qatar Academy Al Wakra is to develop students who are critical thinkers, life-long learners, and globally minded responsible citizens. The International Baccalaureate prepares students for this journey based on learning for the real world. Learning is aimed at exploration and discovery throughout the learning environment. Students are taught WHY we should know something and HOW it connects to other subjects and the real world. The IB Primary Years Programme is a curriculum framework focused on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry-based learning.

At QAW we are committed to international mindedness. According to the International Baccalaureate (IB), an international minded person is someone who demonstrates the attributes of the Learner Profile, which are the qualities determined to be most important in creating positive and productive citizens of the world.
