QAW Solar Art In-house Exhibition
QAW students have talent! A number of students from grade 3, 4 and 5 created Solar Art projects using a solar energy component and recycling materials for the Shams Generation Project. The Shams Generation Project is an education initiative by Qatar Science Technology in association with Qatar Museums. After school on Tuesday, 17th October 2017 these projects were displayed in our school cafeteria for QAW staff to place a vote in the student's envelope in which they felt showed a) form (design), b) function (project was operative), and c) responsibility (student used recycling materials). It was appreciated that representatives from the Shams Generation were able to join us on this day. 25% from these projects will be selected to be placed at the Doha Fire Station 'Shams Generation Solar Art Exhibition' in November. The parents for these students will be notified, and they will be invited to attend the open ceremony shortly.
All students have demonstrated tremendous efforts and their projects are inspirational. Each student deserves and will receive a certificate of appreciation. I would like to thank the parents for encouraging their children, the students for their enthusiasm and commitment, and their teachers and staff for supporting them. We wish them all the best. This project has most certainly helped them gain confidence and pride in appreciating their projects and solar energy.
